Details of Toyota RAV4 2010 Recall

Toyota is one of the high performance automobile makers known for manufacturing high quality automobiles with decent performance.

Even though the quality of models is high, the vehicle may get some issues at times. Here are more details about Toyota RAV4 2010 recall.

Recall 1

On 21st January 2010, Toyota recalled few of the 2010 Toyota RAV4 units that were manufactured during 2005-2010. Some models produced in this period were manufactured with the friction lever, which interacted with the grace surface of the accelerator knob in the unit of pedal sensor.

This surface might be smooth during the operation of vehicle. In this situation, if condensation happens over the surface, the friction applied on the accelerator pedal may increase causing the harder operation of acceleration pedal.

Since the accelerator pedal becomes hard, the mechanics of the vehicle is suppressed, which increases the risk of severe car crash. Approximately 2230600 vehicles participated in this recall.

Recall 2

They were not installed with the safety labels for load carrying ability. In this Toyota RAV4 2010 recall, nearly 271417 units participated.
